30 Farmhouse Furniture Makeovers
I’ve been obsessed with furniture flips lately, farmhouse furniture makeovers to be exact. The right piece of furniture can change the whole look and feel of a room. The color, the size and shape tell a story and can be inspiration for the rest of the decor in the space.
I happened to pick up this adorable little hutch this weekend on craigslist for just $70. I had been looking for something for our dining room for a long time and this will fit perfectly. Sometimes you just have to wait until the right piece comes along…
It’s so cute, right?? I knew I wanted to paint it but was searching for inspiration on line and Pinterest, of course, did not disappoint. I found so many pieces that I loved I though I would share them with you. 🙂
UPDATE: You can find the final hutch project HERE.
Here are 30 of my favorite farmhouse furniture makeovers.
This buffet is stunning. The depth of the color on this piece and the aging with wax is beautiful. It’s so vibrant and the pulls are the icing on the cake.
I love the two tone of the wood on the drawers and blue paint in this dresser. It just so happens that I was recently given a dresser and I think I need to try this look.
If I had a place to put something red, I would. It’s so warm and definitely makes a statement. These accessories look so pretty.
How sweet is this blue little coffee table? I love the bead detail around the sides and the two tone with the wood on top.
This armoire makeover from Bless’er House is just stunning and how creative is the reading nook?
This dresser is just so pretty. I love the addition of the painted swirls on top of the faded sage green. Just a bit of aging and wear and tear make it seem so delicate. So pretty with the matching accessories.
What vision it must have taken to see this piece for what it could be. I’m sure a ton of work went into it to fix the overlay. The finished piece is so pretty and so grown up.
One of my favorite makeovers. This one was a labor of love but worth it. What farmhouse furniture makeovers would be complete without a bit of distressing and some farmhouse accessories.

The choice of paint and the colorful fabric are a perfect combination to update this old hutch.
The color on this buffet is just gorgeous. The aging with the wax highlights the carved details and is just so pretty. The knobs are perfect.
This dresser was a big transformation. The glass knobs give it such a classic feel.
I love the aqua distressed paint on this end table combined with the dark wood top. What character this would add to a room. It’s styled so cute, too.
Just gorgeous! The perfect place to store quilts.
Another piece from Bless’er House. I love how the black knobs pop off of the layers of shimmery blues on this dresser. Farmhouse accessories make it even more beautiful. Swoon!
Two book cases combined to make one. This is one of those things where I was like, why didn’t I think of that?? So farmhouse and so creative!
That patina. The wavy lines. The pulls. The feet. LOVE!
The softness of the chalk paint on this old hutch is so pretty. What a clever use for toiletries and a great piece to help define the bathroom space.
The color of this dresser is such a perfect gray and the handles are beautiful. It’s perfect in this space.

This was quite the makeover on this old cabinet. The Cobblestone color from Country Chic Paint was perfect to give it new life. I love how the white and tan accessories pop.
How gorgeous is this navy cabinet?!? The aging on it is perfect and the white inside makes whatever is displayed pop.
This old dresser is so pretty with the green and brown combo and those antique pulls add so much character.
This little armoire is so cute. I can see it in a child’s bedroom or in a bathroom for linens. I love the cure of the legs.
Restoration Redoux
I love the lines on this piece with the swirly legs and bottom. The shade of blue is so unique and looks so pretty with the stained top. The accessories are perfectly romantic like the piece.
I know this one is not necessarily a piece of furniture like the others but I just love the distressed paint and trim detail. How pretty is the pop of white of the accessories.
What a makeover on this desk! It’s so pretty and it is styled so perfectly.
I love how this table came out! This was my first time trying this paint technique. It was super easy to do and adds character to this thrift store table.
This hutch is the perfect farmhouse piece for a dining room or kitchen. I love the bead board back and trim on the front.

This buffet makeover is so creative. I love the layers of color, just the right amount of antiquing and the black pulls . The addition of the wood top is perfect.
Those are some of my favorite farmhouse furniture makeovers. The power of paint, some creativity and a little elbow grease can go a long way! I know exactly what I will do now with my new hutch and I can’t wait to share it with you so stay tuned. Have you taken on a labor of love and transformed something with paint?
Happy DIY’ing!

Can you tell me the color or color mix used on the sweet green chest of drawer with white stenciling? Love that piece.
Hello! I love that piece, too and green is my favorite color! Unfortunately, I found that one on Pinterest and there is no source for the color. It looks like a light sage. Country Chic Paint makes a beautiful shade of this called Sage Advice. It looks like whoever painted that did a bit of blending with a lighter color as well to highlight and then distressed it with a brown, too.
I love the pale green 3 drawer dresser with the white stenciling. Do you know what green paint was used or mixture of paint?
love. love your peices …… I worked for a store and refurbished allot of peices.. clients were driving from surrounding towns to purchase peices…. I am retired now, and I recently was gifted my mother’s dinning room, set, hutch, hall tree. We estimate it to be over two hundred yrs old. When I was cleaning the chair my father set in at the head of the table, I was overwhelmed with memories. The worn, soiled, arms of the oak chair made me weep knowing that was dad’s fingerprints, dna. still on the furniture.. The thousands of meals my mother set before family and friends. Holiday fests, weddings, birthdays, funerals… it was a very emotional day. I surrender the entire morning to tears and loving memories that washed within my mind, road the wave of joy and lost… I will leave this set to my granddaughter, knowing she will cheerish these peices the same as my own Jenny Lind bed she has had since she was three……. you are now under my favorties God bless
