35 Free Printable Gift Tags You Can Print at Home
Make your beautifully wrapped gifts even more special with these unique gift tags. These free printable gift tags are my gift to you. 🙂
When our kids were little, Santa used to use different gift tags on and wrapping paper on their holiday gifts than what I would use so we would know those gifts were from him. Now that the kids are older, there are just our gifts under the Christmas tree and that is so bitter sweet. Sigh.
Each year I still change up my wrapping paper from the previous year and sometimes it is becomes the inspiration for my color story for Christmas. Why not make your gifts do double duty and use them as part of your Christmas decor??
Christmas gift tag ideas.
Last year I chose a couple of different styles of wrapping paper. One had oranges and little forest animals on it. It was a little out of my comfort zone but so pretty. You can see that post here.
A few years ago I made these adorable woodland Christmas gift tags and ornaments. You can see the tutorial here.
For these cute gift tags, I cut out pictures from scrapbook paper and glued them to white labels. Then I outlined the edges with a fine tip marker.
For these, I also used birch log slices and a fine tip marker.

Fun printable Christmas gift tags.
This year I went with a classic red wrapping paper and one with a vintage looking Santa print on it which I picked up at Walmart. It goes with my vintage inspired Christmas decor this year. You can see the whole Christmas home tour here.
These free printable gift tags I’ve created to share with you today are a nod to that rustic, vintage feel as well and are in those traditional Christmas colors. It only takes a couple minutes for this free download and can be customized to your color scheme. There are 4 pages of tags and 35 different designs.
Many of them look beautiful with a solid dark red wrapping paper but I’ve also included black and white, a lot of green and a few other colors to mix and match.

What you will need to make these free printable Christmas gift tags this holiday season:
- home computer or laptop
- home printer
- downloaded Christmas gift tags
- card stock (white card stock if you want white Christmas gift tags or cream)
- hole punch
- scissors
- pretty ribbon
- markers
- twine
*Don’t forget, these free printable Christmas tags are for personal use only.
- Click the link and download and print the pages of gift tags. The original size is roughly 2″x3″ each but if you want them smaller, just print them at 70% or 80% or the page. the ones on the left are the originals and the ones on the right are the ones I printed at 70% which come out to be about 1.5″ x 2.25″. These would be great for smaller gifts.
2. Cut out the gift tag you want to use. If you don’t want the color on the outline to show, simply cut inside the line. If you cut inside the line, you could also change the outline color by using a marker in any color you want like green or make it shine with a silver or gold paint pen.
3. Add a hole in the top with the hole punch. You can use bakers twine, shiny curly ribbon or add embellishments if you want to really make these your own Christmas gift tags.
Or pretty ribbon…
4. If you want to make them smaller without having to print them smaller, you could simply cut them in a square and tape them on a package or punch a new hole for the ribbon along the side.
5. If you want to really simplify things, cut a tag out and just use tape. 🙂

I hope you like these free printable gift tags. They are a great way to add your own unique personal touch to your beautifully wrapped gifts. I know when I’m doing my gift wrapping now, I always think back to what Santa used to bring on Christmas morning when the kids were little. I remember the fleece footy pj’s, the looks on their faces when they opened those gifts and the feeling of the hugs by those little chubby arms around my neck. Bitter sweet.
Now the gifts are a little different and a little more expensive (lol) and instead, I’ll remember their hoodies and sweatpants, but I’ll still remember the looks on their faces and feel the sweet hugs of those same kids that are bigger than me now. Either way, I’m beyond blessed. 🙂

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!
