Inviting, vintage inspired Christmas decorating ideas – Christmas Home Tour
Unique ideas for decorating for Christmas. How to create an inviting holiday space in this vintage inspired Christmas home tour.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I like to try different things when I decorate for Christmas but, ultimately, red and green have my heart. This year I added in a lot of black and brown accessories because they add warmth and a feeling of warm nostalgia. If you’ve been here a while you also know I love using things in unexpected ways to decorate.
For this home tour I thought I would focus more on the details of each vignette. I’m also including the video so you can see how everything comes together.
Come on in….
In the entryway I used a lot of black to ground the space.
I found this antique frame at our antique shop for just $9. It’s perfect for a bit of nostalgia in the entryway along with the antique bells and sled.

For the entryway table, I used a basket with some greens and layered in some books for a simple vignette. It’s one of my favorite holiday decorating ideas.
Chalkboards are always easy to decorate with. I really like the depth they add with the layers on the mantel.

The top of the armoire in the great room is layered with crocks and greens. I added the basket for height and texture.
I love to use art or prints as inspiration and when it’s thrifted it’s even better. I picked up this vintage train print at a church thrift sale for $5 and the colors are just perfect for Christmas. It’s a great jumping off point for this Christmas vignette.
A simple addition to the coffee table…
I stuck with a black/brown and red/green theme on the hutch in the office.

I absolutely love these books and book ends. The books are from a local antique store and I got the bookends at the Brimfield Antique Show & Flea Market.
My husband picked up this old pocket watch at a flea market. It’s perfect for Christmas decor.
Bowls are a great way to add texture and interest…
In the family room, I kept it a bit more green/white. Another vintage decorating idea is to use old spindles tied together with a strip of drop cloth.

I used these printables from the graphics fairy as inspiration for this vignette. The Irish Santa was a gift from my husband. 🙂
I got these digital downloads on Etsy. You can find them here.

In the dining room I stuck with more traditional Christmas decorating ideas and used the red and green but the “tablecloth” is a blanket from the Targe Dollar Spot a couple of years ago.
I hope you found some inspiration throughout this vintage inspired Christmas home tour and thought of different ways to use things you have to decorate for Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
