2025 Spring Decorating: Fresh Ideas to Revamp Your Home
Spring Decorating with Earthy Tones, Texture, and Pattern
Now that winter is finally beginning to fade, it’s the perfect time to refresh your home with the warmth and vibrancy of spring. For me, decorating this spring season is all about embracing earthy tones, rich textures, and pattern that bring a sense of calm and connection to the outdoors. By mixing warm muted colors, natural wood finishes and woven accents —all blending together, you create a cozy yet airy atmosphere.
Today, I’m sharing some fresh ideas to incorporate into your home for spring, from swapping out textiles to styling thrifted and vintage finds in a way that feels both timeless and on-trend. Whether you’re looking for subtle updates or a full seasonal refresh, these spring decorating tips will help you create a space that feels effortlessly stylish and inviting.

1. Embracing Rich and Earthy Tones
While pastels have traditionally dominated spring palettes, I have been really gravitating toward earthy hues. Not to say I didn’t use some shades of pink but I chose darker pink, plum, navy blue, mustard yellow, and chocolate brown which add depth and warmth. These shades provide a sophisticated alternative to traditional spring colors, allowing for a more refined and cozy aesthetic. Subtle muted colors feel more grounded to me and also allow for an easier transition to summer.
I added some dried hydrangeas in that beautiful rose/plum color from my neighbors garden last year. You can see that fall decorating post here. The color really pops off the white dishes and when mixed in with some muted shades of pink is so pretty for spring.
I added a bit of classic pink with some florals and artwork in the corner of the kitchen.
I also brought in some navy. I’ve always loved navy and I’ve wanted to use it in my decor for the longest time. I like the way it adds a new twist to spring.
I pulled it in with the throw blanket and pillows as well as the books.

You can also see the navy pulled in the crocks on top of the armoire.

And color and pattern in the throw pillows.

If you are looking to add a bit more color, here are some other combinations you can try. My style is more modern cottage but these colors are also perfect for other styles, especially if you are thinking about trying something and expanding your style a bit.
- Terracotta and Clay Tones – Perfect for a boho-chic or Mediterranean-inspired home.
- Mustard Yellow and Olive Green – Adds vibrancy without overwhelming the space.
- Navy and Blush – A sophisticated mix that balances deep and soft hues beautifully.
- Warm Neutrals – Creams, beiges, and taupe help tie everything together harmoniously.
2. Incorporating Natural Materials
Always a favorite for me, warm wood tones, stone accents, and woven textures create a serene and organic feel. Whether through woven furniture, linen curtains, clay vases, or reclaimed wood pieces, these elements bring a sense of nature indoors. Try layering different textures to add depth and visual interest to your space while maintaining a cohesive look.
All of the frames here are thrifted and filled with inexpensive digital prints. You can find my favorite digital prints on Etsy here including the bunny below.
3. Bold Patterns and Textures
Mixing bold patterns and rich textures is a great way to create a fresh look for spring and is more and more on trend for this year. Think geometric patterns, floral motifs, and embroidered or tufted textiles that add character and dimension to your decor. To balance the boldness, pair these elements with neutral furnishings or muted backdrops. You know I love a good neutral. 🙂
