I picked these items up at a couple of different thrift stores and was lucky enough to hit a sale!
Small White Ceramic Vase
I picked this up at a newly discovered spot. I hit it at the right time because they were having a 50% off sale so it was only $1.50. Ceramic pitchers are usually a staple at thrift stores, and they make stunning decor pieces. Whether plain white, patterned, or colorful, they can be styled in countless ways.
It’s got such a cool shape. I’m not sure if it’s vintage or antique but I love it. It’s just the right size on this shelf.
A beautiful ceramic pitcher can stand alone as a decorative element on a shelf or open hutch. Pair it with stacked books, a framed print, or small greenery for a balanced vignette.
Woven Tray
I also got this tray for 50% off so it was only $5. It’s fairly heavy duty and can be used in any room for any season. You could also use it propped up against the back of the cabinet for added texture. The handle on one side is a bit rough so I may end up taking them off.
I styled on the coffee table with some books and faux florals in a pretty pitcher.
Here it’s styled under a side table.

Brass Candlestick Holders
I grabbed these as soon as I saw the price! $2.50 for both!!
Candlestick holders are another common thrift store find that can be easily transformed for spring. Whether they’re wood, brass, or ceramic, they can add elegance and charm to your seasonal decor. They are great layered in 2 or three or in a large group.
Oval Basket
Baskets are one of those things that never go out of style. You can use them in any room for any season. I really like the shape of this one plus, it’s super sturdy. It was only $4.
For spring, I simply added some faux flowers.
Small Oval Frame
This sweet little frame was only $.99. It’s missing the glass but I couldn’t resist.
I simply cut out part of a printable to fit.
Small White Canister
This little white canister was only $1.50. I love the shape and the cute little top. At first I used it as a vase.
Then I used it by itself but turned it into a match holder.
I simply added the a match strip on the bottom.

Wooden Frames
These two makeovers are crazy. It’s all about imaging what it could be, amiright? Picture frames are one of my favorite things to thrift and thrift stores are full of inexpensive picture frames in all shapes and sizes. This makes them an easy and versatile decorating staple.
Frame #1: I picked this one up for $1. I know what you’re thinking, but it’s got potential!
The beveled detail is pretty and I love the thickness of the wood. All this needs is a little bit of sanding and some creative paint technique. I started by removing the back. Just prop up the staples with a flathead screwdriver.
Then I gave it a light sanding with some 220 sandpaper to remove some of the “dings”. Then I gave it a couple of layers of paint. The first coat was with a simple craft paint in antique gold. The second was with my go to, Rub N Buff, also in antique gold. Since I did fairly thin coats, the whole project took about 30 minutes including paint dry time. Then I added a bunny print from Etsy. You would never know it’s the same frame!
Frame #2:
The picture is not something I would use but the frame is so sweet with the pretty detail around the edge. Plus I really like the size. It was half off so only $3.
I simply removed the picture and gave it a light coat of inexpensive black craft paint so you could see a bit of the wood through. I wanted to highlight the interior edge so I added some gold with Rub N Buff. Here is the final result.
