Christmas 2020 – Why You Should Start Everything Earlier This Year
Why starting your Christmas 2020 Holiday season earlier than usual could save you time, money and your sanity in the long run.
2020 has been quite the year – the pandemic, world events, politics, good grief. It’s thrown us all for a loop and we’ve had to alter the way we pretty much do everything. The Holiday season this year will be no different and that’s why you should start Christmas 2020 early, like in the next week or so early!

That on-line site you want to shop at may not be available.
It’s no secret that with the pandemic, so many more people have been shopping on line. The week leading up to Thanksgiving is always busy on line anyway and when you add in the fact that so many people are staying home and using the internet, well it may not be able to support it. It may be maxed out and websites may crash.
2. Shortened in-store hours.
For those who would dare to venture out, many stores are closed this year on Thanksgiving. Many are also open shorter hours on Black Friday as well as for normal everyday shopping.
3. Shipping may be an issue.
In years past, you could wait until the week or so before to make a purchase on line and it would make it in time to be under the tree. This year SO many people are shopping on line (see #1 above) and shipping may be backed up so it may be really hard to get that item in time for Christmas.
4. You get the best stuff.
You get the best choice of things because there is more in stock. There is nothing like going on line and finding the perfect gift only to see that it’s out of stock.
5. You can still get a great price.
I always recommend starting early your Christmas planning early to save money but this year it’s especially true. Stores know there are more people staying home and more competition this year for on-line sales, plus less people shopping Black Friday so they are all doing sales early to beat each other. That means great deals for you and sooner rather than later so you won’t have to wait for the best deal.
6. Shopping early let’s you plan better and save more money
Starting your Christmas shopping list for family and friends or finding your inspiration for your Christmas decor early lets you think things through more thoroughly and choose the just the right thing.
7. You can be more in the moment.
Instead of rushing around last minute to get the things done you want and need to, you can take your time, relax and be more present (in the moment) and make it all about celebrating home and family.
8. It gives you an opportunity to focus on the positive.
Why not take the time to create new traditions. Since you’re home more, try those recipes or crafts you always wanted to that you’ve pinned on Pinterest and haven’t had time to do.

9. We all deserve a little extra Holiday magic this year.
You’ll get to enjoy the season longer. Remember, it’s what you make it.
10. It may afford you some “me” time.
So you know when you’re on an airplane and they say to put your oxygen mask on first before helping others, well don’t forget to put your oxygen mask on first. I know this is the holiday season, the season of giving and thinking of others but if you don’t have time to take care of you, can you really help others? If you plan ahead and stay organized, you won’t be as overwhelmed and it will help make a happy season even happier for all.
Christmas 2020 may not be exactly what we expected but it can be something we thoroughly enjoy if we plan ahead and get in the mindset now. It’s time to create your own magic so start planning!
